US State Department announces end of EB-5 visa availability for FY 2024

The US State Department, in partnership with USCIS, recently confirmed that all available visas in the Employment-Based Fifth Preference (EB-5) unreserved category for the fiscal year 2024 were issued on October 1, 2024.

USCIS Nears H-2B Cap for First Half of FY 2025 with 9,120 Petitions

As of August 12, 2024, USCIS has received 9,120 H-2B petitions out of the 33,000 available for the first half of FY 2025. This includes 2,440 approved petitions and 6,680 pending ones. USCIS continues to accept petitions for employment starting on or after October 1, 2024. If the cap isn't met, unused visas will be available for the second half of the fiscal year.

New Zealand introduces a new temporary visa for seasonal workers

New Zealand has introduced a new subcategory of the Specific Purpose Work Visa to help employers hire workers during seasonal peaks. This temporary visa will be granted for up to nine months for seasonal work that is directly affected by the weather conditions, such as harvesting, ski instruction, or tree planting.
